SHE'LL VOTE NO

I saw Carol Shope tonight and she asked me to inform everyone I know that she will vote NO on the LOIT Tax at the December 9th County Council meeting.

Thank you Carol.

Thank you, Carol, for listening to the voices of the taxpayers and
having the courage to vote for what is best for the taxpayers.

The word on the street is that the County Council President is is going to pull the LOIT Tax vote off the agenda until after the end of the year. Is he doing that to wait until he gets more DEMOCRATS on the
Council that he can control ?????

YEP, THAT'S WHAT WE HEAR.

Three cheers for the FLOYD COUNTY REPUBLICANS on the County Council.
They had the courage and wisdom to save the taxpayers from being burdened with another tax on our backs.

THANKS TO THE REPUBLICANS for looking out for us.

I agree with Freedom of Speech it's a new Democrat Tax not a Loit Tax. Bravo Erik, you hit the nail right on the head.

If we work together we can prevent this Democrat LOIT Tax from being placed on our backs at this difficult financial time for all
families.

THREE CHEERS FOR " CONCERNED CITIZENS" WHO HELPED US LEAD THE MARCH AGAINST THIS ADDITIONAL TAX.

I have to live within my budget, and you live within yours. So we need a deputy mayor and a city operations manager when we have other needs. I am not for raising anybody else's taxes.

There are several options available.

They need to search for ways to be more efficient, and consolidate.

I think what this administration is facing is seeing taxpayers pushing back ans saying. It's my money. Live within your means, and figure out a way to do it. I've had enough, how about you?

Thanks Councilman,I'm with you. I'm not supporting this tax either. No new taxes.

There is no reason for any LOIT tax. That's up to you, the citizens and taxpayers, to stop the county council. Don't put that on Mitch's head.

If Shope flips, (again) it will be the end of her political career.

Too many perks in government. There are many good people who wouls take these jobs without expecting to fill their pockets with all the extra's (that are not necessary) if they are really interested in a government for the people.

How about replacing LOIT Tax with a local beer tax?

State lawmakers voted to increase Indiana sales tax by 1 cent in an attempt to offset the lost revenue.

New Albany is likely to feel the pinch more than almost anywhere else in the state, because of a higher debt load and large reliance on property taxes for everyday operations.

Property Tax cuts was the rally cry heard throughout 2007.

We wanted relief, we wanted property tax cuts.

Thanks to Citizen's for Accountability in Local Government there's a new WAR cry.

Cut local spending.

The mayor says:
Cuts to city services, there will be deep cuts in public safety and the layoffs of police, firefighters.

The taxpayers say:
The mayor's bluffing.

The mayor says:
The only way to avoid the cuts, is to find a new source of revenue, increase fees or raise property taxes.

The taxpayers say:
Layoffs? Good! I have never felt I got what I paid for in terms of my property taxes.

City and county made their bed by taxing us out of all our money - now they can lie in it - we're done.

People - we need to do something - this has got to stop.

Yes, Citizens for Accountability is right "where is the accountability to taxpayers Mayor England?"

How can you justify your raise, Carls position, two new cars, insurance for a part-time council and etc.

FIRST OFF, ENGLAND SHOULD STOP THE SPENDING.
SECOND, OF WE WANT LOWER RAXES DON'T BUY IN CITY LIMITS. I PAY $1,850 PER YEAR BECAUSE I LIVE IN CITY LIMIT.
IN THE COUNTY IT WOULD BE AT LEAST $200 LESS.
i AGREE WE NEED TO CUT ACROSS THE BOARD AND I'M NOT BUYING THE SCARE TACTICS. I'M FOR LESS POLICE - FOCUS ON REAL CRIME.
NO MORE POLICE CARS FOR PERSONAL USE OR FOR ELECTED/APPOINTED OFFICIALS EITHER.

LOTS OF WAYS TO SAVE MONEY WITHOUT RAISING RAKES BUT THE PROBLEM IS THE PEOPLE MAKING THE DECISIONS ARE THE ONES MAKING A LIVING OFF YOUR TAX DOLLARS.

It's time the city thins out the fat. Let's start with the Board of Works. do we need that many people on a board spending millions of tax dollars> Whar about the sewer board? Employees of the mayor's administration. These boards vote in favor of what England wants and not the people of the city. I have said it 100 times let's add the parking meters back downtown and charge for parking. What's it cost to run the parking garage down town? Up parking or start charging. It's that simple. It's extra dollars!

We are expected to get creative in ways to make ends meet, it's time local government does the same.

One might consider any new taxes as suicidal for sitting officeholder. Members could easily think the voters won't remember by 2010. But they will remember, just watch and see.

It is time for our leaders to live within their budget and quit taking from ours.

Let me see, In July before the election she voted astained, In November after the election she voted yes, now after threats of her political carreer, she is going to vote no. She has a political pattern.
Let's hope she holds to her word and let the Police Officers pay for their own personal fuel.
