TOWN HALL MEETING, ETC.

Hi everyone,

The Town Hall meeting is 6:30 to 8:00 in the library tonight. Hope to see a lot you there. Judging from the comments on this blog and the new "Kitchen Table Issues" blog people have a lot to say. I just hope they show up and ask the questions.

Tomorrow is the Exclusively New Albany event and I will be one of the volunteers, so of course cannot attend the city council meeting. Someone please post comments and tell us what happened.

So this posting will be open to anyone and everyone who wants to comment on tonight's meeting, the council meeting or Exclusively NA. Or any other topics of general interest.

later,

Shirley

New Albany has went to hell in a handbasket. Nearly 500 homes for sale, people moving out. The number of properties sitting in disrepair is growing. Speaking of growing the number of yards that have not seen lawnmower since probably last year is growing as well. There was a movement to push city government to correct this, but those in favor of it were chased down by anonymous blogging lynch mobs. A particular realator and her army of cronies fought every measure for prevention, and as such has driven down the market price and desirability. anytime the city make steps to correct anything at all the hate mongers start up their lie machine and plaster every media outlet with assertations that the administration is doing everything illegally, and how they as tax payers will not stand for it. New Albany is going to hell in a handbasket and it is because of self serving special interest groups with an agenda of smearing the names of anyone who does or says anything they disagree with is doing everything they can to blck change in order to serve their agenda of insulting people that that simply do not like.

It was just another photo-op for England and his plain to blame everyone but himself. If I hear him say one more time they are under funded, I am going to scream.

They are underfunded! The same people that are complaining about raising sewer rates are the same people that have lower income jobs and dont pay enough taxes to support our city.

Maybe the reason people are complaining about the sewer rates are because they have lower incomes.

We all pay the same price for a gallon of milk or a unit of utility service. It is just that for some of us it is a bigger sacrifice than it is for others.

It would have been more instructive had carl not served as unofficial iterpreter, but other than that, the gathering was informative enough.

We understand the need to pick one's battles. Perhaps just one might be picked before the term ends?

RE: the wimp comment

I just reported on the meeting I am not a parrot for the mayor or anyone else. Whoever you are you know better.

I was reading comments posted to NAC and must agree about David Brewer. He seems to be very enthusiatic. And he is out making things happen.

I hope he continues with the good work he has started. We need more people like him. People who are not jaded and think that,(this is how it has always been done), or(we try but it's hard when no one cooperates), all of the usual excuses.

They're all good when they start, but in this case, you have to remember Doug England is the mayor and if he doesn't want info out and it get's out. There is hell to pay.

Like Garry told someone the other day"I have a boss" mayor England and you'll have to get it from him.

I am quite sure the Indiana Access guy will be b***h slapping England a few times, before he's outta office.

He has more to loose than too gain, right now.

Maybe the employees downtown are jaded because they have been beaten down by a Council that only wants to fight and not govern.

I must apologize for the lack of activity on this blog. I am still having problems with my home computer and am unable to access the screen for new articles.

I can reach this screen at work but I have not had the energy in the past few days to stay after work and blog. Besides I was absent yesterday due to illness and can't seem to quit coughing enough today to be productive at anything.

I will get this thing fixed and be back to normal ASAP.
