The meeting started off with comments from the public of which there were several. It started off with Mark Cassidy who surprised everyone, including himself, by supporting Mr. Price in the resolution to rescind health insurance benefits for council members. I echoed his words when my turn came, all to no avail as we all know. Thankfully I heard that the cost of living bonuses will be given to the non-bargaining employees of the city. That was my other topic.
Richard Berryman was next and was happy to report that the city cleaned up the mess they made in front of his house when a garbage truck leaked. His main topic was FEMA's decision to deny the flood victim's claims. Mr. Coffey explained that New Albany was included with the rest of the county which did not have as much damage. Doesn't seem fair.
Next up was Vicki Denhart who used her five minutes wisely and covered several different items. She stated that the nearly $44,000 fee for health care should not be given to a select few but rather spread among the rest of the council. She also said that Mr. Malysz and Mr. Rosenbarger had written grants in the past and with their large salaries should be required to do so in the future and thus eliminate the need for a grant writer. She also went on to speak about the lack of accountability and lack of leadership in the city, she ended with the words "We're in trouble".
Jason Hublar also spoke about the Tort claims being denied. He said the reason given was that the city was unaware of the flood problems before the big flood according to the insurance company, Midwest. He added that he and others had made the city aware of these problems two years ago.
Scott Thomas and Bob Lind spoke against the moratorium on building permits. Mr. Gonder changed the agenda to include just the first reading so the Ordinance can be changed again.
Ray Ballew spoke out about the healthcare rescinding resolution. He said the three part time employees are all business people who should be able to afford their own insurance, he also thanked Mr. Price for writing the resolution.
The last citizen was Debbie Pellman (sp?) who wants our tax dollars to help the flood victims. She asked that citizens be put first for once.
Mr. Malysz handed out a memo from the Mayor to the council (I just happen to have a copy).
It is regarding recent England Administration accomplishments. They include:
ARRA Stimulus Funding $1,515,000
- Spring St. signals
- Market St. signals
- Hausfeld Lane/CSX RR crossing
- State St. pavement (Green Valley Rd to I-265)
Mt. Tabor Road Design $482,750 contract 80% Federal also C-town to G-Line Rds.
Ohio River Greenway City $350,000 (from TIF) the Corps of Engineers $350,000
Additonal $3.2 million ARRA Stimulus funding from Corps of Engineers, New Albany will need to match this funding by June 2010 or the Corps will lose it.
The SEJ/East Spring Neighborhoods NSP Project - the $6.7 million grant to improve 40 properties, an additional 10-12 houses will be constructed.
The city is also in the process of selling the Baptist Tabernacle and Shrader Stables.
All of this happened between 7:30 and 9:00 Thursday night. There is so much good news but still so much bad news also. There is a light at the end of this tunnel but we have a long way to go to get there. I just wish someone could wave magic wand and create good jobs for our citizens so we could pay our bills and not worry about losing our homes. Those 40 houses will be sold to people with lower to moderate incomes but people need to have an income to buy them. Let's hope and pray that something happens soon.

Just hope the light at the end of the tunnel is not an oncoming train.
I was suprised at some who voted against the grant writer.
Has N.A. ever had a professional grant writer before?
I assume that the ARRA money will be used to change Spring St. to two-way traffic.
There are private and nonprofit companies that actively seek grants and write grants on behalf of businesses, organizations, and governments. They make their money by administering the grants which can only occur after successfully securing the grant for the entity. Most grants limit the amount of administrative cost that can be paid, so the cost would be known at the time the grant is applied for.
Thanks for the meeting coverage.
Price had his facts dead wrong on the grant writer.
He said it would be $40,000/year PLUS benefits. Wrong. The vote was for a CONTRACT POSITION, not a salaried employee. $40,000 was the total cost. Not a penny more.
Also, Price said that if a grant writer was good enough, he should be bringing in grant money to pay his own salary? Last week we received almost $10,000,000 in grants. All of that money must be used for roads, greenway or housing. None of it can be set aside for future grant writing.
Louisville has a whole GRANT WRITING DEPARTMENT. Mr. Price, if we had a professional grant writer last year, we might have received $15,000,000 or $20,000,000 last week.
Penny wise, pound foolish.
Not an hour after they said that a $40,000/year grant writer was too costly, they voted for $45,000/year in health insurance for themselves.
Where is the council's priorities? I think we have our answer.
Penny wise, pound foolish, and selfish.
Ha! We were thinking the same thing, "hope the light at the end of the tunnel is not an oncoming train"!
The comment "WE RECEIVED" sort of lets on who wrote it, LOL. When Carl and John stop receiving pensions along with their salaries we might be able to justify a professional grant writer too.
We have other people we need to hire, remember? People to help the Controller out, liens being put on non sewer payments, etc.
Selfish? Penny wise, pound foolish? We don't think so, but, we do not work for this dilapidated city either.
Thanks for the update Shirley. Price tried and we feel the same as he does; insurance only to full time employees. We heard what Ceasar said to Kochert, wish we had it on tape.
Take care Shirley and thanks again for giving us a forum to voice our feelings, controversial or not. LOL!
The comment "WE RECEIVED" sort of lets on who wrote it, LOL.
Yeah, someone from New Albany.
I think Anonymous thinks the city should pave the streets and pay its staff with profits from city marijuana dealing. Tax free revenue, LOL.
Stepped on your toes, did we? Now, that's funny!
Anon
My concern about those 40 homes, is if the city purchases them than we loose more tax revenue.
Did any one catch that deal on 5 new police officers?
Months ago the city appropriated $500,000 for them.
When are budget was cut Garry said it would nit happen.
Well the appropriated another $500,000 for them. So for 5 police oifficers it cost us $100,000 per officer.
I guess that also covers their new cars, computers and cell phones and etc per new officer.
All this city cares about is police and fire. The funny part on 19 police officers live in New Albany. But ever administration kisses their asses.
Anyone also notice twelve officers sat through that meeting.
Is that what my tax dollar is paying them to do?
Show unity or force at a council meeting.
Sorry, but that's my opinion.
My concern about those 40 homes, is if the city purchases them than we loose more tax revenue.
We're talking about houses with tiny assessments and tiny tax bills. The city's not going to keep them. They're going to purchase, fix up, and sell the houses. When the city's done, they'll have much larger assessments and much larger tax bills. Plus, there will be spinoffs. Private citizens will fixup other houses. This will increase assessments in the city.
God forbid we have a nice place for our kids to play baseball. I guess it's ok to settle for our downtown field although all those years kochert was getting paid to sit on the sewer board he never figured out how to keep the sh!t from backing up into centerfield.
we paid millions for engineers to keep the sh!t off the baseball fields. Kochert kept his eye on the claims, like all the boards shuld do.
I feel sorry for those tort claims and the people hurt. I wunder if they know how many times the insurance from torts filed w/the sewer bd meetings never got paid either. Is there something wrong with the nisurance?
Maybe there is something wrong with the claims?
So why would someone sit on a board and rubber stamp claims for millions while engineers accomplished nothing.
He spent more time on the sewer board than anyone maybe he needs to be investigated.
There was nothing wrong with the claims. The city damage reports were mixed in with the county. The county had very little damage so the city was turned down. Dan Coffey said that was the only way it could be done.
Personally I think the city was cheated but that's just me.
If Coffey said that, that it was the only way it could be done; I would bet that there was another way.
what happens when we make claims on our insurance?
our insurance rates go up.
that's good for the people who have sewage in their basements. but it's hardly free money.
no matter how much insurance we have, the only long term solution is to fix the problem.
getting G-town off sewers won't hurt but it's just a start.
http://www.news-tribune.net/local/local_story_327075932.html
Wind energy firm officially announces it is coming to town.
Who'll be the first to express opposition to this?
With all that money flowing down the sewers you know some of it was falling into Kochert's hands. All those years with lawyers, engineers and construction making millions you know someone was getting a cut. How else do you explain how nothing was fixed.
That's probably why Gardner kicked him off the sewer board.
Kochert was just a Union pawn
Dont forget why Ledford and Utz resigned becos of Overton. Kochert stood his ground on the contracts. Try try again. Maybe u need to be investigation.
Sure am glad hear about wind farm coming. excellent Idea.
Geting GT off our sewers will be really good for city. Remember, Carl said it wouldnt and Tribune called him out on it.
How could Kochert be a union pawn on sewers? We didn't hire union people to do jobs. I bet they wish we had of.
I like your coverage of meeting Shirley, thank you
That's old news Roger. Maybe they can put a wind farm on Spring and Bank.
Is it true you waited on tables at Richo's before you dated Amy?
It's a small cuty we live in - huh?
In the short and long run, it appears to make more sense to hire a company who is in the sole business of writing, securing, and administering grants and paying them the administration fee that is allotted in most grants, than not to get any grants at all. These companies are staffed with a team of professionals, not just a single person waiting around to find time to look for grants. These companies get paid ONLY if they get the city grants, not $40,000 to simply TRY and get the city some grants.
That's old news Roger. Maybe they can put a wind farm on Spring and Bank.
First, Roger didn't assert that this was new, so what's your point?
Second, while we knew the company was looking at New Albany, it is news that the company actually is coming and it is news that they are hiring 260 people.
I'm sure some "no new taxes" nutcase will attack the $1.5 million in tax breaks the company will get for locating here. I mean, they could have gone to Louisville and taken all of their income and property tax payments, and the tax payments of all their works, but most anonymous people on this blog don't think that way.
It comes out to a little more than $6000 in incentives per new job. These are good, high paying jobs on average. New skills will be developed here and still stay here. There will be spin off industries. Suppliers of this company might locate here too.
This is a very good thing.
For some grants, the percentage of the "earnings" makes sense. For others, it does not.
There are grants that might take 250 hours to prepare where the city has a 1% chance of receiving $10,000,000. Many grant writers will determine that it's not worth their time to work on a grant where they're 99% likely to receive nothing.
Also, many grant applications ask for the same information such as financials and biographies of key players. If you have one person who handles all grants, they will be more efficient at preparing many grants instead of having to gather this information "for the first time," every time.
I applaud are local watchdog group.
That's old news Roger. Maybe they can put a wind farm on Spring and Bank.
Looks like we have a wiener.
Not only did I wait tables, but I also tended bar, substitute taught, created entries for a data base, manicured parks and baled hay.
After all that, I was able to begin drinking beer for a living.
Not that you had a point, or anything like that ... and it is a "cuty" of a city, yeah.
That's why we are in the mess we are in. Tax abatements is one. Fixing property taxes is another. I read there will be NO jobs until 2012.
You're complaining that most of the jobs won't come until 2012? Damn, some people will never be happy.
I guess 2 years and a couple months from now is too far in the future for some people to plan. Let's just focus on next week. Screw planning for the future. Not planning has always worked for New Albany in the past and look how great everything turned out. We're the envy of the world!
By the way, that's $5000 per job at the wind farm. Not a bad bargain. Bank Street's sidewalk improvement created new jobs for about $1000 per job. Correct me on the math Roger if I'm off.
Back to the wind farm, if the new employees pay state income, property and sales taxes for about 18 months, we'll recoup the $1.5 million. If they're employed any longer, it's pure "profit" to the state. If the company folds and has no profits at all, then they won't use their tax breaks and thus it won't cost Hoosiers a dime.
we sure are spending a lot of time rehashing ancient history. Maybe we spend too much time looking back, and no time looking forward around here...
Tell this to all the people without jobs. They promise jobs but where are they? How many employees at Rogers place makes more than mininum wage? Any benefits? Holiday pay,and or vacation?
This is not going after Roger what about the other bars and resturants. When the bottom falls as expected next year, people will not be going out to dinner or buying a pint when a longneck is all they can afford.
Bars, brewhouses and resturants are not secure jobs.
Just my opinion and believe me I am entitled to my own thoughts.
Oops! I for got health insurance, pension plan or a 401K.
Sorry about that.
A couple members of my church went downtown to dinner. They said it cost them $2.50 for a cup of coffee. Don't think they will be going back, under cooked and over charged, toooo pricy were their comments.
You can lead a churchgoer to good things , but you cannot make him eat/drink/think.
IMHO, LOL, VBG
I was going past the hospital and noticed four ambulances there thogh 1 was from Harrison Cty., got down town and Market to Main was blocked by police nd two fire trucks on State Street. I didn't want to look but sure enough there were two ladders up on Wick's pizza place. I have not made it to the one downtown yet have ate in Louisville's. Sure hate to see it. Hope they are okay.
Are you telling me they had one marked police officer, one unmarked police officer and two fire trucks there helping put up Christmas lights? You are kidding, right? If that is true by golly I need help putting up mine. Please tell me you are kidding.
and they are hollering they are short handed and their budgets are way over and, holy crap. It is definitely against the law and if any body wants to say something it probably wouldn't be berating the FD, its blasting our Deputy Mayor or Ghost Mayor for putting the orders out. Unbbeliveable.
EXCUSE ME....... THE POLICE AND FIRE
DEPARTMENTS ARE CRYING THAT THEY DON'T HAVE ENOUGH OF OUR TAX FUNDED BUDGETS TO STAFF THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS.
IS WICKS PIZZA GOING TO REFUND TO THE CITY FOR THE GASOLINE AND MANPOWER USED TO DECORATE THEIR BUILDING ?
PLEASE DON'T TELL US THAT OUR TAX PAID POLICE AND FIREMEN ARE GOING TO USE OUR TAX PAID SALARY PEOPLE TO DECORATE ALL OF THE COMMERCIAL
BUILDINGS DOWNTOWN.
I REPEAT--- THEY SAY THAT THEY DON'T HAVE ENOUGH OF OUR TAX DOLLARS TO PAY FOR THE STAFF THAT THEY NEED.
So church people went to a nationally-renowned brewery and ordered a cup of coffee? LOL
if there is a shoot out or a 4 alarm fire this afternoon, i'm sure the police and fire will drop what they're doing and go save some lives.
true, firemen sit around a lot, but when they work, they work hard. they don't pick their schedules, they don't pick when there's a chemical spill or an arsonist's attack. put when that stuff happens, they get up and work damn hard.
hey anon, if the fire department weren't at wick's now, which four alarm fire should they be at right now?
Tell them not to stop with the commercial buildings. Imagine how much help they could do helping Main St Historical Mansion Row out. They have tall buildings also.
Do you really think the Board of Works are going to start checking claims out now and try and catch that bill? I wonder how much they charge, but then again they use to fill certain city officials swimming pools up so I don't know why we are surprised.
You can't believe thiS Admin about nothing, and I mean nothing.
How is the new slum lord doing as building commissioner. That's still stuck in my throat. Sickening is what it is, sickening. Bah Humbug.
Nobody said they didn't. Change the subject that is all you are good at. We know who they take orders from, bah humbug to you too.
Hey, Anon here, NOT PRIVATE BUSINESS OR INDIVIDUALS DOING WORK ON CITY TIME WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS. IT IS ILLEGAL AS HELL.
Help, Henderson.
Go to Little Chef. You get free refills on good, cheap coffee. Pancakes are the size of hubcaps. Value for your dollar. Non smokers and smokers go there, everyone gets along. Best kept secret in NA. Love the place. It's like Cheers where everybody knows your name.
Unbelieveable. You can not use OUR EQUIPMENT OR EMPLOYEES ON CITY TIME DOING WORK FOR PRIVATE CONCERNS.
GOD HELP THEY DID HAVE A FOUR ALARM FIRE. AM GLAD THEY DIDN'T. DOESN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE LAW AND THE USE OF OUR, OUR, OUR, TAXDOLLARS.
BITE ME.
you're anon b/c u dont like to check facts. it's not wick's decorations, stupid.
Don't call us stupid, Chris Drake informed us. Look at his posting, duh. November 24, 2:06 PM, duh. Try again, you who like to point thoe false fingers. Chris, are you lieing to us? Damn, didn't thik you would do that.
Geez, y'all thought it was a good idea when Li'l Stevie said we need to run things like Andy did in Mayberry, and here the firemen are helping out for the holiday 'n' yer all screaming bloody murder.
Being anonymous is never having to be consistent, I guess.
YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT CHRISTMAS LIGHTS YOU ATHIEST THANG YOU? YOU HAVE NO RIGHT AND I AM HERE TO TELL YOU, IN PERSON. YOU SURE ARE TAKING PART IN THE CHRISTMAS FESTIVITIES IN LIGHT UP NEW ALBANY.
SWING BOTH WAYS WHEN IT SUITS YOUR POCKET BOOK HEY? BLOW IT OUT YOUR WHATEVER. YOU WORDS MEAN NOTHING.
MY OPINIATED SELF, LIKE YOU YOUR ROYAL **
Yeah, what holiday Baylor? You of all people dont believe in Christmas. You must be next in line huh?
We're trying to formulate a tasteful design scheme for the solstice season.
OR, TO THE ANGRY DUDE IN SCREAMING CAPS, "SEZ U."
AND I AM HERE TO TELL YOU, IN PERSON.
Unintended irony is the most hilarious kind.

Classic Baylor is like listening to Classic Rock on QMF. I hear anon as much as I do Boston or Foreigner.
YEAH, YOU ARE A JOKE ALRIGHT, THE BIGGEST ONE IN TOWN. YOU WISH TO BASH CHRISTIANS IN A NEWSPAPER, WE ARE HERE TO BASH YOU. BITE ALL OF US.
Larry,
Would you stand up for the Lord's prayer if I gave you $5 dollars during the city council meeting?
YEAH, YOU ARE A JOKE ALRIGHT, THE BIGGEST ONE IN TOWN. YOU WISH TO BASH CHRISTIANS IN A NEWSPAPER, WE ARE HERE TO BASH YOU. BITE ALL OF US.
(crawling across the floor, laughing)
The difference being that name I signed to my column.
Other than that, to you I respond: "What Bob Caesar said."
Don't forget to read Thursday's Thanksgiving column, bunky.
geez roger, i guess you're not allowed to talk about fire trucks now....once they're tainted by christmas decorations, city property is off limits for your discussion.
who has more new albany members, the local chapter of the flat earth society or CFA? or is there a difference? tea partiers look like an angry lynch mob if i've ever seen one, and i'm here to tell you that in person!
Hey New Albanian, who in the hell do you think you are?
No one gives a sh*t what you think or say. Alls you care about is your wallot.
You talk about Lil Stevie and that's not right.
Whose lap are you on and whose a** are you kiss'n?
You can't even argue because you never have NO facts.
Your day is coming sooner than later. Citizens of New Albany are sick of your cocky (think you)know it all attitude.
Wait until we get your a** kicked off the newspaper and don't think we the people don't have the power to do it.
Your little buddies downtown won't be able to save your little writing career. HA!HA!
The main thing you forget, there are people bigger and smarter out here and they will do what ever they can take your a** down a notch or two.
You are nothing but a freak'n bully and the sorriest wannabe I've ever met.
Your an idiot of all and a master of nothing.
Your no better than the whores they take down by the K&I.
Don't you just love satire Mr. B.?
ANYONE NOTICE WHEN THEY CAN'T HANDLE OR CONNTROL US BLOGGERS HERE, THEY ATTACK CFA. I PERSONALLY THOUGHT CFA WROTE ONE HECK OF A LETTER LAST THURSDAY.
BE SURE AN ORDER YOUR YES SHIRTS LOOKS LIKE CFA IS LEAVING YOU PROGRESSIVE IN THE DUST.
GREAT SHIRTS, MAYOR ENGLAND SAID. NO NEW FEES & NO NEW TAXES.
RIGHT ON GUYS, GIVE'M HELL.
Just so you know. The Christmas lights were paid for by DNA, and the city is helping install them at any biz that needs it. No OT involved. Of course if there's a fire, they will respond. Don't think that's really a waste of tax money, your mileage may vary.
Mr. S. We do not care WHO bought the Christmas lights. We do care police and firefighters are using THEIR TIME AND OUR EQUIPMENT AND MONIES to work on private businesses. It is illegal and can't say we really care about what you may feel. Appreciate the explanation, though.
Who cares, Baylor, whether you sign your name or not? WE DON'T CARE AND ARE TIRED OF IT. YOU WILL GET THE MESSAGE HOPEFULLY SOONER THAN LATER.
You are participating in Christmas activites and that makes your thoughts about Christians a moot point. You are simply in it for the money and WE ALL HAVE IT FIGURED OUT.
As the other commenter said, there are bigger and better people in town who will take you down, at least a notch or two. Watch and see.
Daniel S. thanks for the info on the Christmas lights, love your comments on NAC by the way.
Thank you DNA for making New Albany look more festive. I hope every business in town gets decorated.
Where does DNA get their money?
cougfh, cough...
From the City Council, which makes it taxpayers money.
Want to try again Daniel?
Hey New Albanian, who in the hell do you think you are?
No one gives a sh*t what you think or say.
And for which newspapers and magazines do you write?
BTW, I love it when people write:
Your an idiot...
If only the writer knew how stupid his/her ironic that reads when the incorrect grammer. (Should be "you're an idiot").
That's right folks, DNA got everything from the city. Never mind the grants it receives, or the membership dues, or the fund raising at the home tours or dinners. Nevermind the mind DNA raises at Harvest Homecoming or it sold the White house center.
If anonymous thinks he's so smart and has a problem with DNA, than anonymous should grow a pair a f*cking balls, show his little wimp a** face down at the next DNA meeting, and say something about it. Got it, you dumb cracker?
It's a lovely evening. I'm going for walk downtown to enjoy the lights. I'm sure I'll run into people I know from Louisville who came here to visit the winery or La Rosita and who stopped to admire what a good job everyone is doing downtown.
What does CFA have against Christmas? Why does CFA think that the fire engine can't be used to put up lights?
Ms. Denhart does kind of look like the Grinch. And now she's trying to steal Christmas.
You're a mean one, Ms. Denhart.
STINK, STANK, STUNK!
IT IS SO SAD AND HARD TO BELIEVE WHAT THE LOCAL ATHEISTS ARE DOING TO OUR CITY OF NEW ALBANY.
ESPECIALLY DOWNTOWN.
OUR CHURCHES AND CHRISTEN MEMBERS HAVE ALWAYS HAD RESPECT FOR EACH
OTHER AND WORKED TOGETHER FOR THE GOOD OF ALL CITIZENS.
IS THE DOWNTOWN REALLY AS ATHEIST AS IT NOW APPEARS?
IS IT TRUE THAT THE AETHEISTS REFUSE TO STAND UP AT CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS WHEN THE LORDS PRAYER IS
BEING SAID ?
FOR THE DOWNTOWN CELEBRATIONS, ARE
THEY GOING TO CALL IT :
"ATHEISTS-MAS"
AND NOT "CHRIST-MAS"
is downtown full of atheists?
damn, there's a lot of 'em, ain't there.
see all those atheists at wick's and steinerts?
does anyone but atheists eat at the wwindsor, the winery, la rosita, toast on market?
do only atheists and atheists ex-presidents speak at the grand?
even the ymca?
WHO WOULD HAVE THAT THAT THE YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION IS A BUNCH OF ATHEISTS?
THE YMCA'S DOWNTOWN, ISN'T IT, AND THE ATHEISTS SUPPORT IT, RIGHT? THE YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION MUST BE A BUNCH OF GOD HATING LIBERALS.
you is all wrong, anonymous. YMCA ain't atheist, but studios and conners place and hugh e's and the hitching post is all atheist. oh, and the greenway is all atheist too. i mean, the greenway don't even got no 100 foot tall cross on the floodwall to help drivers from godless kentucky into the chosen land of indiana.
The subject is our $ being spent on the fire and police putting up Christmas lights on private properties. I don't think the police were off duty or the fire men were off duty. I don't think the firemen drive their trucks home at least not yet.
We are glad DNA BOUGHT the lights, but again it is with our dollars and if this what they want, that is okay.
it's also ok to have 1 truck bring Santa Claus down.
Personally I feel whatever Roger says and does is ass backwards.
He has a big article in the paper about how he doesn't stand up in the cathedrals or church balconys waving his athiest signs. I'm not sure who is bothering him with preaching. Most Christians would consider him past saving.
The irony and sarcasm directed at him is because he is participating in Christmas pagentry without a mouth or leg to stand on and we all do feel its for his personal wallet. We are entitled to our opinions and thoughts, no matter who doesn't like it, just like he is.
Oh, he may sign his name, then again what does his name stand for?
Back to the dollars the police and firemen and where they are over budget and we have to listen to crap about firehouses being shut and police and fire wanting audits and how badly their overtime and budgets are and they need more of the citys budget when they already get close to 80% of the entire thing. Were tired of the crap being shot to people who have to listen to it at council meetings.
Keep on with it taxpayers. Some how they will listen, even it turns legal. We have a lawsuit this time. Lets preach that tune seeing it is always preached at us. All glory to God who thankfully gave us a mind and voice to speak with with out retributions from the diatribes.
YES!
The irony and sarcasm directed at him is because he is participating in Christmas pagentry without a mouth or leg to stand on and we all do feel its for his personal wallet.
Will you please make up your damn minds?
When insulting Roger, please decide whether he's a money hungry capitalist or an anti-capitalist commie. He can't be both.
I don't mind reading insults against Roger, but when you're all over the board with these insults, you just sound stupid.
You guys should be ashamed!
Look!
You hurt Roger's feelings so much that he ran away, and can not defend himself.
It's so bad that anon. people have to stick up for him.
I am pretty sure there is something in the Bible about judging others.
is helping put up christmas lights really any different than when the fire department helps pump water out of basements after heavy rain? Its not really an emergency its just helping out.
Or what about when the fire fighters in city trucks stand in intersections collection money for crippled kids thats not an emergency its just helping out.
what about when they are in the parade they are using "taxpayer" money to ride around and wave.
how about when the water trees that the city plants thats not an emergency either. if you people are so unhappy with everything here why dont you shut your gripe holes and gp ahead and move into a group therapy home?
To the contrary, FF, I was laughing so hard that I couldn't type without garbling words the way my accidental councilman does.
I'm reading each and every one of these constructive posts.
Most Christians would consider him past saving.
We have a lawsuit this time. Lets preach that tune seeing it is always preached at us. All glory to God
That's what you call Christianity? Not in my church.
The Bible says no one is past saving.
False Christians who bastardize the word of God to justify their hatefulness are worse than anything. Anyone can be saved from the cradle to the grave, its not up to you.
Anon 10:21
I don't understand your comment. First of all, I am not a "false Christian". I am not the Christian I should be but in no way am I false.
Secondly, I said that anyone can be saved and did not say it was up to me. I don't put myself on the same level as Jesus.
not directed at you
Maybe for Christmas CFA should buy all the "little people" dictionaries!
I bet if the city of New Albany paid a little bit more taxes when you all were in school your grammer and spelling would be better.
So you all 9progressives) seem to think it's ok to attack Ms. Dennhart with bare face lies, but if others attack Baylor for his religious believes he continues to write and spew than no one is suppose to say a word.
First rule of being a real man, you never attack a woman in a room full of citizens at a public meeting. Yet, you refuse to admit you were wrong.
I have to say this for you Baylor people still can't believe you actually showed your true color that night.
Whose lap and pocket are you in?
I never attack Ms. Denhart. I just refute all the crazy stuff she says and all the misinformation she spreads.
I don't attach her but I ask her for proof, something she never seems to have.
God loves you Roger, but we don't have too.
Oops another typo, old webster might be reading this.
Iamhoosier calls out the people that make fun of VD. He agrees with them but he still demands that they sign their name when being mean.
Speaking of Iamhoosier, where is he? No postings for a while.
Roger never attacked VD just called her a lying bitch, which one would argue is a very accurate statement.
Look all you little people love Roger so much you are starting to impersonate him.
Happy Thanksgiving to all the "little people" of New Albany.
I guess you don't know the defindation of attack it can be verbal as well as physical you Jackass Progressives.
God loves you Roger, but we don't have too.
You must not be a Christian. Christians love their neighbors.
When did the Tribune "verify" that CFA was a PAC? Tell me the date of the article. I didn't read that.
I knew there was a lot of faux accountability here.
Now it looks like there are a bunch of faux Christians.
I recommend New Albany Christians and non-Christians read the following post from Rev. John Manzo:
http://jemanzo.blogspot.com/2009/11/abusing-gods-word.html
When did the Tribune "verify" that CFA was a PAC?
PROOF! SHOW ME PROOF!
There is nothing regarding verification of a PAC on the tribune. All there is are stories and letters to the editor of the same verbal bile being regurgitated.

Denhart in herself is harmless. The troublemakers on all the forums are people like Elizabeth, Virginia, and others who feed Denhart false information, and use her for a mouthpiece. And how can a registered PAC have several different "names", can a PAC be a DBA as well? We have examples of:
Citizens for Accountability
Citizens for Accountability in Government
Citizens For Accountability in Local Government
"Citizens for Accountability" is not a registered PAC with the Secretary of State of Indiana. You may call and ask, and they will tell you.
1-317-232-6531
Choose the options for "all other calls" and ask to be directed to the office that will verify if a PAC is registered.
They will redirect your call for you and they can search the database.
They have a Citizens for Accountability for Government out of Michawaka, and this applys statewide.
I also spoke with Kaitlynn and she directed me to the Buisness Services and I spoke with Angel.
I called back to Kaitlynn and got their direct number.

"When insulting Roger, please decide whether he's a money hungry capitalist or an anti-capitalist commie. He can't be both"
Does anyone know if he's Jewish?
Didn't they use to say the same things about citizen advocate Valla Ann Bolovchak?
So Mr. Drake, you seem to imply or say that CFA is not a PAC. Is that correct?
Then why do you go to all that trouble and call Indianapolis but you will not contact Linda Moeller who was the one who helped fill out the necessary forms and filed it with the State of Indiana.
What's that I hear, your brain being fried since you are a new representative of the State of Indiana.
You got one hell of a resume going boy.
And, why not just admit to all of us, you just don't like Ms. Denhart.
Here's a news flash for you boy. I suggest you contact the clerks office and ask Mrs. Moeller yourself.
Office: 948-5415
Office: 948-5415
Office: 948-5415
What are you afraid of Mr. Drake?
You can talk the talk but you won't pick up the phone and find out the truth you so desperately want.
Seems like you haven't got the ba**s you brag on having.
At least I can say for Jacka** England, he did check out CFA with Mrs. Moeller and knows CFA is a Political Pac.
What organizations are you associated with?
Happy Thanksgiving Christopher, you guys can't think of nothing better but to attack women of New Albany.
Good grief.
Chris, which wars and conflicts would you considers a religious war or conflict?
It is in context of your postings on NAC. You seem to imply that all wars are caused by religion.
or you imply that most wars and conflicts are caused by religion
Christoper D.....get a life! My gosh too much time on your hands! who the freak cares!
I have to leave be back soon Chirs
How would you explain Al Qaida killing other Muslims or The Christians in the Crusades sacking Constantinople?
Christians killing Christians can be a war motivated by religion. Think of North Ireland. Catholics versus Protestant.
Then why do you go to all that trouble and call Indianapolis but you will not contact Linda Moeller who was the one who helped fill out the necessary forms and filed it with the State of Indiana.
I guess she didn't fill them out correctly.
Why would anyone care if CFA is a PAC? I don't but apparently someone else does. Why else would anonymous keep trying to say they're a PAC. How else is CFA going to get an ounce of legitimacy? It doesn't matter. We have pro-gay PACs, anti-gay PACs. Any lone individual can register with the state.
All that means is that you have an opinion. It doesn't mean you have your facts straight.
How do I get on CFA's mailing list? I would like to learn more.
Even if you do not follow Christian teachings, such as wishing that someone's business fails or telling lies, I hope you have a happy Thanks Giving with your families tomorrow.
It's easy for Christians to say they want this to be a Christian government. It's easy because each person imagines that the government will have THEIR form a Christianity. But in the end, people are going to argue about it. I mean look at how many Protestant denominations we have. You throw in the Catholics and the Orthodox along with the Baptists and LDS and the rest, and no one will be able to agree on anything.
The churches with gay bishops won't all of a sudden agree with the churches which want to wipe out gays all together. It will be impossible for them to come up with a common government policy on homosexuality.
You could say the same thing about just about any social issue. There are Christian churches in New Albany which think abortion is acceptable in cases of rape. Other churches in New Albany think that rape is not an acceptable excuse to get an abortion. But a whole lot of people out there who think we should have a Christian government think that such a government would ban abortions altogether.
What if a Christian government put a cross on our coins? Are Jews second class citizens? Some Christians would say include Jews and others would want government policy to try to convert Jews to Christianity, just like the Southern Baptists want.
Bottom line, even if two Christians agreed with the statement "I want a Christian government," it's still unlikely they'd be able to work out the details.
I applaud are local watchdog group.
Yes, thank you NAC!
Thank you redistricting lawsuit plaintiffs!
Thank you Tribune Jeers!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving Shirley and all.
Just trying to understand your point of view better.
It's up to you to prove "they are not" a political PAC.
They have nothing to prove to you. Shirley and many others know the facts, but you again refuse to listen or accept it.
Just make that call to Linda Moeller at the Clerks office Christopher D. unless you are the coward.
We don't need your PDF file.
When they again have their facts on their side.
As Iamhoosier often says: shut up or put up.
Do you think CFA would risk a fine of $50-$100 per sign, if they were not a legal PAC?
Why do they have a Bank Account in Citizens for Accountability's name?
Put up or shut up Drake and others, these attacks are getting old.
Dan, the Fourteenth Amendment?
The same argument can be made for it. What was the original intent and context? Did Congress and states pass the Fourteenth Amendment with the First Amendment in mind?
Happy Thanksgiving Shirley. The bird is in the oven.
