I HATE NEGATIVE ADS. HOW ABOUT YOU?

I don't know about you but I am sick of all of these negative political TV ads. The "Tribune" ran an editorial the other day stating they did not know who started the negative ads between Shane Gibson and Ed Clere. Really. Everyone knows which party sent the negative mailings again this year just as in previous years. I have heard many people discuss their dislike of such ads but everyone agrees that they work.

I have a novel thought. Let's not vote for the party which starts throwing rocks at the other candidates.

The sad part is the City of New Albany has now committed to funding these political ads through 1SI, you know the economic development group turned political swift boater action committee.

Doug England could veto this and not fund this group of political attack dogs, but he won't because he is a coward and he fears for his own re-re-re-relection bid.

Another day in this dirty little river town.

This Town will always be dirty as long as the likes of Doug England and his band of thieves are in office.

I think in Nevada there is a choice for None of the Above.

Maybe we should try that nation wide.

best ads of the season, baylor endorses gibson, the choice is clere.

Freighberger says no tolls, why? No Brains. Grooms the candidate who thinks before he acts.

Future ad, Baird the candidate who has no position on anything until she checks with her bloggers.

i hate the negative phone calls worse. they call when i'm home and call when i'm not home. and the crap they're doing to ed clere right now ought to make you people rethink your support for the party that can make up crap like that. shane gibson is as guilty of this as if he'd hired the call center himself. he's going around saying he didn't know about what they're saying. he's got all kids of other people saying it too. stop protecting shane and get out there and man up! ed clere hasn't done anything wrong and you people know it. even i know this, and i'm fed up with it. i listened to my answering machine before going to bed and there's even crap on there! they don't stop. i've probably had 8 calls in 24 hours. stop this nasty crap, people! stand up for ed clere. i know, deep down, that he's done his best to do a good job and I AM NOW VOTING FOR HIM!!

Shane Gibson did not start these negative ads or phone calls. He has been very outspoken about his dislike of them and has told the people in Indy to stop.

It is very sad that both political parties are stopping to this level. All I hear is that evgeryone hates negativity but it works. If EVERYBODY hates it they why in the world WOULD it work. Hopefully people will realize tha damage they are doing and this will be the last year for this garbage.

Beg to differ but Gibson did start the attack ads and worse yet he panders to the doug england roger baylor crowd then cries foul when clere calls him out. If you want a smooth talking, double talking politician who screwed the taxpayers with all the sewer bonds he pushed and padded his pockets withy legal fees then Gibson is your man.

Mrs. Baird let me stop you for just one minute. If you're planning to run for council at large you better get use to checking the facts instead of acting like the loyal democrat you claim to be. You of all people know what Shane Gibson has done and how he has lied to our council members and all the bucks he's made off of us and England's scams. Let the SOB Gibson put his actions and records out for all to see. Do you really think you can represent me and my family? Maybe you need to pick up a few pointers from Price. As he says, it's business not personal.
Anyone who votes for Gibson is worse than a moron = a democrat moron.

Yes. Shane Gibson is quick to deny any connection with the phone calls and all the negativity. Yet he said himself, at his mighty press conference, that if Ed Clere couldn't control his own party or campaign, how can we expect him to control thing in Indianapolis. It was an interesting quote. Shane apparently thinks that ED CLERE should be able to control his campaign, yet thinks it's natural that he cannot.

The other thing I notice: Clearly this is about CONTROL as far as Shane's concerned. He thinks that being state representative is about CONTROL.

Ed Clere thinks that being state representative is about SERVING THE PEOPLE.

See a difference?

I was at that stupid press conference. Thought it was dumb then and still do. Gibson, why don't you man up and stop having everybody help you shimmy out of this?

THE CHOICE IS CLERE

Just a few of District 72, House Representative Ed Clere’s accomplishments:

Securing $3,500,000 in federal stimulus money for Georgetown’s wastewater treatment plant. The grant will enable Georgetown to get off New Albany's system. Georgetown will no longer have to depend on New Albany, and New Albany will be free to pursue economic development, which has been severely limited by a lack of available treatment capacity. Town Council President Billy Stewart thanked State Rep. Ed Clere for helping Georgetown secure the grant. (New and Tribune, May 10, 2010)

Aiding in the selection of New Albany for a $6,700,000 grant to improve the S. Ellen Jones neighborhood. Seventy-five properties in the S. Ellen Jones neighborhood have been identified as dilapidated “ we will have the resources to weed out any junk and dilapidated properties in that neighborhood,” Carl Malysz said. (New and Tribune, April 20, 2010)

Assisting in the transfer of 4.5 miles of Ind. 111 to the City of New Albany. The city received $6.125 million from the Indiana Department of Transportation as well as a maintenance garage along Grant Line Road. “This is a big deal,” Carl Malysz said. (New and Tribune, August 4, 2010)

If brought back to the General Assembly, Clere said he will continue to push for funding and legislation for Southern Indiana projects and residents. (New and Tribune, October 17, 2010)

One thing I'm going to say is that I have never, EVER had the kind of phone calls I've had during this campaign season. There's no way that these calls come from any source but our own party. I have never, EVER thought our Democratic Party could EVER stoop to slime this low. WE brought slime into our county. OUR OWN PARTY brought slime like I've never heard into OUR community. I was wondering whether or not to vote straight Democrat because I know that Shane Gibson is lazy and not worth much as a city attorney, but now I KNOW I'm voting for Ed Clere.

Tell you the truth, I can't complain about anything Ed Clere has done. He helped my wife and I after the flood, and he was smart to get that Georgetown wastewater treatment plant. His columns are great and they told us a lot. Gibson's column was uninteresting and had nothing to say unless he was jabbing at Clere. It's really obvious who's doing a good job, and, like it or not, it's Ed Clere.

On top of that, the ugly actions of our inner circle make me think Clere deserves our vote. I know too many stories about people being frozen out for having Clere signs in their yard and I know all about what Faith did to get Dan Chandler to take down his sign. I also know exactly who was behind it.

Yes, it's "clere" that we need to get behind Ed Clere unless we want to be run by bullies and thugs for the rest of our lives.
