There was an editorial cartoon in today's "Tribune" which really made me mad. It was a "take off" of the Beatles' Abbey Road album. It showed four donkey's dressed as John, Paul, George and Ringo with the caption reading "Crabby Road". They were headed toward a sign which read "leaving DC" and the donkeys had @#%$& type symbols over their heads.
Each of our Indiana Democrat candidates posted statements on Facebook and sent emails thanking their supporters. They all said they had done their best and appreciated what everyone had done for them. This is what is known as class.
I know this is just a silly cartoon but the author, Jerry Holbert, obviously felt that this was the general mood of our candidates. I don't know where Mr. Holbert lives, this may have been written thousands of miles away but our local newspaper agreed with him. This is just plain wrong.

I have to disagree heartily about your comments on the Tribune, ONLINE.
A LOT of Democrats voting for the County Democrats live in the CITY.
Please look at whom (now no longer after the election) sits on the local Central Committee. WHERE do they live????
You are so mistaken about who's on first, which inning, or even the ballgame we are ALL in.
I beg to disagree with your comments. What are you going to do with the DCC resigning? Have you reconciled yourself to WHY they are resigning?

Shirley, most of these people need to hook up with Mr. Matthews and quit claiming to be Democrats. You know the guy with "principles". The guy who, in a letter to the Tribune, cited the Heritage Foundation as non partisan to support his argument. Most of us knew better and pointed it out. I was reminded last night while driving home from work and WHAS radio, FOX News reported that Mitch McConnell had made a speech at the "conservative think tank, Heritage Foundation". Most of these people dogging you have about as many principles as he does.

People are tired or your crap, continued insults, and constant desire to try and divide the people of this community. Who cares if you have two decades in business? How does that make you any better than those who don’t own a business but have gone to work everyday for the past two decades? People don’t care anymore what you have to say let alone want you to sit at their table. The only seat your immature behavior has entitled you to is the one in the corner.

The Republicans voted the straight ticket and many Dems voted Republican also. They were unhappy with Washington & we got trickle down dissatisfaction. The pundits agree with me.

I don't think anything needs to be "done" re: Mayor England and Valla Ann. I just let it be known that she had been working on the quiet zone for several years.
Any further action should be up to her.

Yes, I would have been angry if the cartoon had featured Republicans also.
It was in very bad taste and made it look like our local & national candidates were sore losers which is not the case.

If VAB's only reason for working on the quiet zone was for the good of her neighborhood then she wouldn't care who got the credit as long as the horns stops honking.
If VAB did it to further her own political ambitions then she would want to take credit for everything she could whether the Mayor did a thing or not.
i read the tribune articles and the courier journal article. nowhere did the mayor or dennison say that VAB did nothing. the articles did not say the mayor and dennison did everything either.
VAB has made a career out of making mayors look bad. with her history of screaming at council meetings and bumpster stickers r u surprised? if u were the mayor would u call her up for anything? what has she ever done for the mayor???

10:56 you must NOT own a tv, the Mayor took the ENTIRE credit for the Quiet Zone on WAVE and WLKY. That's what people are upset with. Matt D. dropped the ball and everyone knows it. Unlike you, credit should be given to the person who deserves it. England was looking for something to put on his campaign material.
